What I’m Making for Autumn at P&B Embroidery

What I’m Making for Autumn at P&B Embroidery

There’s something about September that always feels like a reset.

The school holidays are over, the mornings are starting to feel a little cooler, the jumpers are coming back out, and my embroidery machine is slowly moving away from summer birthdays and into all things autumn.

I’m not quite ready to show you everything I’ve been working on just yet, but I thought I’d share a little peek behind the scenes at what’s happening at P&B Embroidery this season.

Autumn is always one of my favourite seasons to make for

There’s so much to love about autumn.

Cosy jumpers. Pumpkin patch days. Halloween parties. Family photos. Crisp walks. Darker evenings. And, of course, lots of excuses for personalised embroidery.

This year I really wanted the autumn collection to feel wearable, cosy and a little bit playful, rather than creating pieces that can only be worn once.

I’ve been working with softer seasonal colours, textured embroidery and a few fun details that I think little ones are going to love.

Lots of stitching, testing and changing my mind

One thing you don’t always see when a new design launches is how much testing happens beforehand.

A design might look perfect on the screen and then behave completely differently once it’s actually stitched onto a jumper.

So there has been a lot of:

changing thread colours

resizing designs

testing different placements

deciding something is “not quite right”

stitching it again

staring at it for far too long

changing my mind

and then finally getting to the point where I love it

Very glamorous 😂

But that part of the process is really important to me.

I want anything I add to the website to be something I’d genuinely be happy to put on my own children.

A few new seasonal pieces are coming

Without giving too much away, there are definitely some new autumn and Halloween pieces on the way.

Some are a little more traditional and cosy.

Some are slightly more fun.

And one or two have a little extra surprise once it gets dark 👀

Alongside the new designs, I’ll also be bringing back a few of the types of pieces you always seem to love at this time of year; personalised jumpers, seasonal embroidery and easy outfits for autumn days out.

I’ve been thinking about matching family pieces too

One thing I’ve wanted to do more of is create pieces that work for both children and grown ups.

Not necessarily identical outfits from head to toe, but little matching details that make family photos, pumpkin patch trips and days out feel a bit more special.

So there may also be something coming for the adults this autumn.

Why I’m keeping the designs under wraps for now

I know it’s tempting to show everything as soon as I make it, especially when I’m excited about a new collection.

But I actually quite like keeping a few things secret until launch day.

It gives me time to photograph everything properly, make sure the listings are ready, test the embroidery, and launch the collection when it all feels finished rather than rushed.

And it means you get to see everything together rather than in random little bits weeks beforehand.

When is the autumn collection launching?

I’ll be sharing the official launch date very soon.

If you want to see the new autumn and Halloween designs first, keep an eye on @phoeandbee on Instagram and check back here on the website.

I have a feeling this might be one of my favourite seasonal collections yet.

For now, though, I’m heading back to the embroidery machine.

There are still a few things left to stitch…
